Sportscaster Dick Enberg had a 50-year run doing March Madness basketball games on TV come to an end last Saturday. He will now
focus more time on announcing San Diego Padres baseball games.
He talks about the evolution of March Madness in this article.
Sadly, one of Enberg's former football partners, NFL Hall of Famer
Merlin Olsen, died earlier this month. Olsen lost his battle with cancer.
This article at CBS News includes a video link with Dick Enberg remembering his courageous and caring colleague.
A Canadian TV fixture for about 50 years is David Mainse. It all started in 1962 with a 15-minute program following the late night news in Pembroke, Ontario. Today, Mainse has seen Crossroads grow into an international ministry with a 143,000 square foot state-of-the-art television production facility called "The Crossroads Centre" in Burlington. David could not have done this without you, so he wants to personally say "Thank You" at one of his "town hall style" meetings to be held in over 100 Canadian communities during 2010 and 2011. The schedule is here.
Thank you for the memories and teaching Merlin, Dick and David!
