Well, the San Diego Chargers won on Christmas Day, 42-17 over Tennessee. I would call that another blowout BUT with the California team coming out on top. How about any football score with a difference of three touchdowns (twenty-one points) is considered a blowout?
That means the Buffalo Bills were victims today in Atlanta, 31-3.
On a positive note, QB Brian Brohm made his starting debut for the Bills while receiver Terrell Owens became the sixth player in NFL history to hit 1,000 career receptions. Other embarrassing blowouts today in the NFL:
- Green Bay 48 Seattle 10
- Carolina 41 New York Giants 9 (each team has a great receiver named Steve Smith but Carolina's broke his arm today)
- New England 35 Jacksonville 7
- Arizona 31 St. Louis 10
In my opinion, a hockey blowout might involve a difference of six goals. Yesterday, Canada shut out LAtvia 16-0 in the world junior opener for both countries. Congrats to the U.S. team, who remained unbeaten at the world juniors with a 3-0 victory today over Switzerland. (Canada should blow out the Swiss tomorrow). The U.S. team won 7-3 over Slovakia yesterday. Canada takes on the USA on New Year's Eve! Can't wait for that matchup. Plus, the "Royal Canadian Air Farce" joins comedic forces for the first time in a year on New Year's Eve.
